CAPS offers funded Industrial Internet of Things micro-credential

Sheridan's Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) is excited to announce the launch of new Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) micro-credential program designed to help mid-career workers gain in-demand skills in the high-growth advanced manufacturing section. This accelerated, hands-on program is tailored to meet industry needs, can be completed within 16 weeks, and is available for just $200.

This micro-credential is part of Upskilling for the Innovation Economy, a national program led by Colleges and Institutes Canada and funded by Upskill Canada, powered by Palette Skills, and the Government of Canada. By funding tuition costs and supporting targeted training, the initiative addresses critical skills gaps and labour shortages, helping businesses stay competitive while contributing to Canada’s economic growth.

“We are proud to offer this innovative program as part of our commitment to supporting local workforce development,” said Matthew Rempel, Associate Vice Provost, Academic & Industry Integrations. “This micro-credential will empower mid-career workers, including unemployed individuals and equity-deserving groups, to access rewarding careers in industries critical to Canada’s economy.”

Due to the project funding timeline, all participants must complete their training by March 1, 2026.
