Program Delivery

This is a part-time program and is delivered via on-campus (synchronous) classroom.

Program Description

Creativity is at our core. Let it out on the canvas.

Whether you're looking for professional development in the art field, or simply looking to nurture a new hobby, Sheridan's Fine Arts program will help you learn to develop your artistic talents, while furthering your appreciation for the drawing and painting mediums. Students will get the opportunity to explore their creativity with our fundamental introductory art courses, perfectly designed for those who want to expand their portfolio of work.

Listen to your inner aesthetic voice and begin a new creative educational journal at one of the leading-edge facilities in the country. Through hands-on instructor via artists in the field, our state-of-the-art drawing and painting labs are designed for originality to blossom. Harvest your craft through continuous experimentation and portfolio growth.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

Create original compositions based on direct observation and photography sources
Show paint handling techniques
Learn to mix colour appropriately
Identify major artists and artistic movements in history
Draw the shape, structure, and form of the human body

Recommended Program Pathway

There is no recommended program pathway, and students are welcome to enter the program with any course.

Age Limitation Notice

Please note that our ARTS70005 Figure Drawing 1 and ARTS70007 Painting 1 (Fine Arts) courses routinely contain drawings and painting of the nude figure, and study of human anatomy. Thus, it is mandatory that students who participate must be over the age of sixteen (16) years.

Materials Required

All classes are conducted using non-toxic media. The use of solvents and oil-based paints are strictly prohibited.
