Examination Prep Courses

Near completion of your credential and ready for the next step? Our two examination prep courses are designed to help you review the framework of either the CHRP or CHRL examination. If you're ready to take the certified examination and looking for extra prep, these courses are for you. Choose the one that best fits your goals:

Program Delivery

This is a part-time program and is delivered via online (asynchronous) and virtual (synchronous) classroom. 

Program Description

Every company needs Human Resources. Become part of a the larger community with Sheridan’s Human Resource Management Certificate program. We will prepare you in all areas of human resources and how you how to successfully market yourself  to employers. You will learn the practical skills needed to succeed as an HR professional, and effect positive change within a company structure. Learn from experienced HR professionals using real-world business situations, who are leading the charge in the marketplace using on-trend and modernized human resources applications and solutions.

The Human Resource Management Certificate program meets the high standards set by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). The framework incorporates both knowledge and competency around the areas of strategy, demographics, workplace accommodation, business acumen, diversity, employment law and analytics. 

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to: 

  • Identify employee behaviour, motivation, leadership theories to influence team effectiveness 
  • Implement Human Resource functions against an organization's strategic plan
  • Develop training programs for an audience 
  • Execute strategies for negotiation and administration of collective agreements in unionized environments
  • and more!

After this, students may take the courses in any order as they see fit.

Grade Requirements 

To achieve recognition from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA), you must attain an overall average of 70% with no individual course grade below 65%.

Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA)

The Human Resources Professional Assocation (HRPA) is the professional regulatory body and the professional association for HR professionals in Ontario. All courses in the Human Resources Management Certificate program have been approved by HRPA and can help you earn the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation.

For these examination preparation courses, there will be no refunds issued after the start date of the course. Requests for withdrawal should be made at least 24 hours before the start date of the course.
