Program Delivery

This is a part-time program and is delivered via virtual (sychronous) classroom.

Program Description

Learning a new language can enrich your life and enhance your career.  If you’re looking for an intellectual challenge or want to help move your resume to the top of the pile, a Sheridan Certificate in Conversational French will help you develop your French language skills in an interactive and social setting.

You’ll begin by learning French language fundamentals and reinforce your comprehension through oral and written exercises.  As your verbal skills improve, you’ll explore nuances and participate in realistic conversations and social activities.  We offer a wide range of courses for beginners who are just starting out to advanced learners who want to maintain their fluency.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Examine correct informal and formal forms of speech
  • Distinguish proper use of grammatical verbs and pronouns
  • Converse in everyday situations
  • Develop self-confidence in speaking an alternate language
  • Discover cultural components of the French language and culture
  • Perform presentations and debates with oral proficiency

Placement Coordinator and Contact

Students who are more fluent are asked to take a short oral placement test over the telephone at no cost to determine their level.

To book a language placement test, please kindly contact Placement Coordinator Pankaj Sachdeva at pankaj.sachdeva@sheridancollege.ca.
