Program Description
With Sheridan’s French Proficiency – Beginner Micro-Credential, build a strong foundation in French communication through practical conversation, everyday vocabulary, and essential grammar. Designed for beginners with little to no prior French experience, this micro-credential introduces the fundamental language skills needed to communicate in common social, travel, and workplace situations. Through interactive learning activities and guided practice, students develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while learning to introduce themselves, express basic needs, share opinions, and participate in simple conversations.
As students progress through the program, they expand their ability to discuss family, work, routines, interests, and daily activities while strengthening pronunciation, sentence structure, and comprehension skills. Emphasis is placed on real-world communication, helping learners build the confidence to engage in everyday French interactions.
As part of Sheridan's stackable French Micro-Credential pathway, this program provides the foundation needed to advance to French Proficiency – Intermediate and continue developing toward greater fluency.

Tuition and Fees
Tuition is charged per course, as opposed to per program. The cost of textbooks is not included in the course fees. Any textbook requirements will be listed in the course outline. You can buy textbooks from the online Sheridan Campus Store.
