Sheridan’s Nutrition and Wellness Guide Micro-Credential expands on the knowledge of working professionals within the nutrition field by exploring modern research. These courses explore managing wellness, understanding the relationship between nutrition and diseases, and setting wellness goals by applying it to their professional careers or to enhance their personal knowledge. If you are a health-oriented individual looking to further understand nutrition or are a working practitioner, these courses will help you understand and apply nutrition knowledge in a variety of health fields.

This is a part-time program and is delivered via online (asynchronous) and virtual (synchronous) classroom. 

What are Micro-Credentials?

Micro-Credentials certify an individual’s achievements in specific skill sets and differ from traditional credentials, such as degrees or diplomas. They are shorter, personalized, and enables employment in specific roles. At the end of this program, you will receive an official document credential from Sheridan Continuing & Professional Studies.

The Nutrition and Wellness Guide Micro-Credential helps students gain workable professional knowledge to apply to many different opportunities in the health field. If you have an interest in nutrition, or are a working health care practitioner or professional in this field, this credential is perfect to expand on your skills in this specific body of knowledge. For individuals who want to pursue either a nutrition or fitness-oriented career path, taking this micro-credential will help you explore modern research by looking at nutrition science in depth.

  • Understand the impact and influence of macro, micro and other nutrients within the body to facilitate healthier decision-making regarding diet and nutrition.

  • Evaluate the credibility of various emerging nutrition and wellness endorsements and diet plans or strategies to ensure safe and efficacious practices.
  • Determine the influence of economic and socio-cultural factors when planning and implementing a wellness plan.
