PSW to PN Courses (CPSWN) Information

Image Practicing as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Ontario is a rewarding experience and a profession that is growing. Job prospects are strong and nurses practice in a wide variety of community, homecare, and hospital settings.

If you have successfully completed a college Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate program with a college level English course with a grade of 60% or greater, the PSW to PN Courses pathway option is for you! Successfully pathway into Sheridan's Practical Nursing (PN) program with these courses. 

Please note: We do not accept any transfer credits into the PN to PSW program

Program Delivery

This program is delivered via online (asynchronous) classroom. 

Program Description

Do you hold a College approved Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate, with a college level English course? Do you have grades of 60% or greater? A pathway into Sheridan's PSW to PN Courses is a possibility for you! We welcome you to study with us to complete your pathway courses to obtain the educational requirements needed to be admitted to the Practical Nursing (PN) program at Sheridan.

With this unique pathway, courses are taken as a set to ensure you gain the knowledge needed to join Sheridan's Practical Nursing (PN) program, but also to thrive in your future academic career. Upon admittance and successful completion of all four PSW to PN courses listed, you will gain the entry requirements needed for admittance into Sheridan's PN program in a future academic term. 

This program will have a Fall semester start, with courses running from September to December.

PSW Program Completion

Students must have completed their PSW program from a community college within the last five (5) years. At this time, this program does not accept students with a PSW certificate from a private college. Students with a PSW certificate from a private college are encouraged to contact capsadmissions@sheridancollege.ca for other pathway options.

Grade Requirements

Students must achieve a final grade of 65% or greater in each course in order to meet the academic requirements needed for admission to the Practical Nursing (PN) program at Sheridan.
