Sheridan’s Visual Design Introductory Recognition of Achievement program provides you with the foundations to proceed to the Visual Design Interior Decorating program and will help develop your strong visual design approach.

Program Delivery

This is a part-time program and is delivered via online (asynchronous) and virtual (synchronous) classroom. 

Program Description

Welcome to the colourful world of design. Develop your eye for design, your sense for colour and your flare for drawing. This Recognition of Achievement in Visual Design Introductory provides you with a strong foundation to proceed in our Visual Design -- Interior Decorating program and will position you well to advance in any field that requires a strong visual design approach.

Our three introductory courses cover the basics of Visual Design – colour, drawing, and design. With these three courses, learn the basics of how summarize your design ideas, how to apply colour to your ideas, and finally, how to draft those ideas onto the paper.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Create a variety of design spaces utilizing colour theme, colour scheme, and more 
  • Understand design basics such as colour, texture, pattern, shapes, lines, perspective and more
  • Draw three-dimensional spaces, utilizing sketching and perspective drawing
  • and more!

Visual Design - Interior Decorating Certificate

If you are interested in furthering your education in visual design, our program Visual Design - Interior Decorating Certificate is also available. This program consists of nine (9) courses, including the three (3) fundamental courses part of the Visual Design Introductory Recognition of Achievement. Students will expand on their design skills to include knowledge on creating their own design business, residential space planning, textiles and window treatments, and more. Students who are interested can easily pathway into our Certificate program after completion of their Recognition of Achievement.
