Build on the knowledge and skills learned in Coronary Care 1. Expand your knowledge of CAD, MI and their complications. You¿ll explore cardiac anatomy, physiology, the electrical conduction system, the cardiac cycle and begin to understand the principles of electrophysiology. Learn how to interpret 12 lead ECGs and describe ECG changes with MI. Common causes and management of arrhythmias, arrhythmias resulting from bypass mechanisms, different classes of antiarrhythmics as well as unclassified antiarrhythmis will also be discussed in this course. Acquire the knowledge needed to describe the mechanisms and components of cardiac pacemakers and be able to understand external, temporary and permanent pacing.
Prerequisite(s): NURS70016, Coronary Care 1. Current Registered Nurse (RN).
