Examine the legislative framework surrounding the creation, operation and management of condominium corporations in Ontario. Protecting Condominium Owners Act, 2015 amends the Condominium Act, 1998 and introduces the licensing of condominium managers under the Condominium Management Services Act, 2015 (CMSA). Explore a range of issues affecting condominium corporations in Ontario, including consumer protection, management contracts, dispute resolution and both recent and anticipated legislative reforms. Students will also be introduced to the major stakeholders in the world of condominium legislation and business, including various administrative authorities and regulators. This course is one of the prerequisites for writing the comprehensive Registered Condominium Manager (RCM) exam set by the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO). The passing grade for ACMO approved courses is 60%, provided you also achieve a passing grade of 51% on the final exam of each course. Note: A non-refundable fee of $45 is included in the course tuition fee for the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO).
