Medical Documents and Techniques

Study a variety of medical documents and correspondence that are currently used in the medical environment. Review basic keyboarding rules in punctuation, capitalization, transcribing numbers and figures, along with proofreading and making corrections. You will be trained to keyboard and format medical documents quickly and efficiently. Through 5-minute timed writings, students demonstrate a minimum speed of 36 net words per minute. Students with less than 30 nwpm will be directed to OADM70000 Computer Basics and Keyboarding to develop their keyboarding speed and accuracy. 

Prerequisite(s): COMM70036 Professional Business Communications (COMMCOMM12423 Business Communication), APPL70052 Word, Advanced, OADM70007 Medical Terminology 2, Keyboarding skills (30 nwpm), and College-level English skills.
