What are Micro-Credentials?
Micro-Credentials certify an individual’s achievements in specific skill sets and differ from traditional credentials, such as degrees or diplomas. They are shorter, personalized, and enables employment in specific roles. At the end of this program, you will receive an official document credential from Sheridan Continuing & Professional Studies.
Program Description
Cybersecurity is a complex and multifaceted domain. As a business leader, you may be unaware or feel overwhelmed with understanding what cybersecurity entails, why it’s important, and how to protect your business.
Sheridan’s Cyber Secure Your Business Micro-Credential program offers small and medium-sized business (SMB) leaders the skills to help keep businesses safe. Using the Get Cyber Safe guide – a Government of Canada cybersecurity guide for SMBs – you will explore how to identify and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities in key areas of your business.
If you are on the fence, our introductory BUSM78233 Foundation Workshop is a self-directed workshop, designed to give you a foundational base of cybersecurity concepts for practical usage. This is an excellent starting point for any new cyber security enthusiasts.
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge in how to secure data in a business setting
- Determine which data should be secured
- Secure data in a cloud-enviornment
- Identify and apply safety practices to email communication
- Apply safety practices to point of sale applications and devices

Self-Directed Learning
Sheridan's Cyber Secure Your Business Micro-Credential provides the unique ability for self-directed student learning. For the below courses, there will be no instructor present within the class, and students will have the ability to create their own schedule for course completion:
