Program Description
In our rapidly changing job market and with the advent of newer technologies, entrepreneurship is an increasingly attractive option for many people in all stages of life. Whether participants are interested in exploring entrepreneurship as a possible career choice or have already started their entrepreneurial venture, this program will provide them with tips, insights, practical tools and networks to accelerate their new business.
Sheridan's Entrepreneurship and Small Business Recognition of Achievement targets those aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs who are looking to launch or accelerate their business. Those interested in this program will include young entrepreneurs, newcomers, and professionals looking for a change from the corporate sector. The program is intended to guide you through the initial stages of starting or building a business from developing business and financing plans to understanding and targeting the right market with effective marketing strategies.
Classes are facilitated by successful entrepreneurs who understand the challenges of starting a new business in Canada and provide feedback to help students reduce their start-up risk and grow their business.
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Investigate the business environment including market research, costing, pricing, and more
- Identify personal qualities, motivations, and behaviours to develop your entrepreneurial mindset
- Understand bookkeeping skills and managing finances
- Create a digital marketing plan in alignment with the global marketplace
- Develop marketing strategies related to business to consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) marketing
