Hybrid Program Delivery:
4-5 sessions for Digital Photography intermediate, Portraiture, Photojournalism and 2 in-person sessions for Family Photography at the HMC campus. Programming Specialist will inform all students regarding the in-person days first week of the lecture.
Program Description
Whether you love capturing snapshots of life, or if you're looking to pursue a career in photography, Sheridan's Digital Photography Certificate program allows you to better capture your world through the lens of your camera. Our curriculum boasts courses in relevant and popular areas of photography, including areas of interest specific to portraiture, weddings, corporate, small event, fashion and family photography. The combination of hands-on experience and techniques gives any up-and-coming photographer the skills they need to translate their skills into real world experience.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

Recommended Program Pathway
The recommended program pathway is as follows:
It is highly recommended that your final course in your certificate be VDES70030 Advanced Digital Photography. The program is built for students to develop their fundamental skills in Photography including relevant software and applications, before building into more advanced and exclusive photography skills. Further, this course will help students establish their personal style, creative expression, and portfolio building capabilities.
Material Requirement(s)
Students are required to bring their own DSLR or mirrorless camera. While we are conducting virtual classes, it is required for students to have access to speed lights and / or flash rings.
Adobe Program & Course Requirements
As of Fall 2019, our Adobe registration requirements will be changing. Upon registration, students will need to register with Adobe and download a license linked to their Sheridan username. A license can be downloaded by visiting https://getadobe.sheridancollege.ca/. For on-campus classes, upon the start date of the course, students will only be able to participate in the MAC lab portion of this course if they've downloaded the appropriate license and logged in with their username and password. You will not be able to access the MAC labs without this information. For virtual classes, students will need to sign up for the license prior to the class start date. For information regarding the downloading of licenses, please contact our IT department at (905) 845-9430 ext. 2150 prior to the start date of your class.
