Are you interested in learning the fundamentals skills related to industrial robotic systems? In this micro-credential, you will learn robot operations, programming, testing, running, tool creation, jog frames, input/output signals, program branching, macro creation, and industrial production operations. You will setup, operate, and program Cognex industrial vision systems and integrate this technology with Fanuc and ABB industrial robots to build different applications including inspections, pick and place, guidance tasks, and many more. Using a problem-based learning model and advanced robotic programming tools, you will experience hands-on robotic lab training that prepares you to be able to solve industrial-related problems and gain the necessary technical and critical thinking skills required by today’s technologically advanced businesses.

This Sheridan Robotics and Industrial Applications micro-credential provides you with in-depth training to meet industry and employer needs for today’s modern manufacturing businesses. This program focuses on automated manufacturing applications in many sectors including food and beverage, automated warehousing, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and others that represent the advanced manufacturing corridor located in southern Ontario. You will learn the essentials of programming and operating industrial caliber robotics and visions systems that have been supplied by leading robotics manufacturers like ABB, Fanuc, and Cognex Vision Systems. Successful participants will receive not only a Sheridan College credential but also industry recognition from ABB and Fanuc for the respective robotics courses. 

This Micro-credential will equip you with a set of indispensable 21st century skills built on Sheridan College’s distinctive curriculum in creativity, innovation, and complex problem-solving.  Skills like system thinking, programing mindset, active learning, problem solving, troubleshooting, and communication are essentials for a successful roboticist.  

All students need is a laptop with specifications that meet the minimum requirement to run ABB RobotStudio and Fanuc Roboguide software. These requirements are available on ABB and Fanuc website.
