Program Description

In today’s changing media landscape, the need for agility and adaptability is more crucial than ever, as freelancers can flourish in a variety of markets. Our innovative Freelance Writer and Editor Micro-Credential, created and taught by Industry Experts, introduces students to three essential skills for freelancing as a writer and editor: self and peer editing in both print and digital formats, working with publishing companies, and establishing rates and creating business plans. These transferable skillsets form the basis of the freelancer’s toolkit, establishing a firm foundation of knowledge for novice writers and editors, or those students looking to increase their marketability in the “gig” economy.
