Fear on Film will take you on an intensive, analytical and entertaining investigation into the history of the horror film, from cinema’s pioneering days right up until the modern age. You will examine changing trends in genre storytelling, technology and societal unrest reflected in the movies themselves, while profiling many of horror and dark fantasy cinema’s most important and influential figures. Your instructor is award winning filmmaker and magazine publisher Chris Alexander, the editor-in-chief, editor and co-founder of iconic horror film magazines, horror film director, and co-founder of Toronto horror film culture conventions. Get ready for a fun, exciting, intelligent, and edifying exploration of film history using the wild, weird, and wonderful world of horror as an entry point!
