Program Description

If you’re looking to start a career as an Insurance Broker, Sheridan's Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario - Licensing Course can help! Whether you're securing automobile, home, or family insurance, an Insurance Broker can provide peace of mind to any individual. After completing this licensing course, you’ll be prepared to write the RIBO Level 1 (Under Supervision) exam. You do not need to be employed at a brokerage firm to take the course or write the exam. However, 12 months after passing the exam, you must be working at a general RIBO insurance brokerage firm to be eligible for licensing. See, Sheridan's providing you with the knowledge you need already!

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

RIBO – Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario – is a self-governing, self-supporting organization of general insurance brokers in Ontario. Obtaining your RIBO Level 1 License allows you to sell Habitational (personal and commercial) Insurance Coverages, Auto Insurance Coverages, Travel Insurance, and Liability Coverages.

You do not need a sponsor to take the licensing course or to do the exam; however, you are required to find employment within the first 12 months of passing the exam to maintain your license. The RIBO Level 1 License is a supervised license, therefore you must work in a brokerage.
