Keeping true to our promise of providing up-to-date and relevant programs, we are glad to announce that effective Spring/Summer 2020 we have updated our Small Business Bookkeeping Certificate. Our program continues to provide you with more advanced computing and reporting skills, to empower you to better analyze and report data to various stakeholders. We have added Excel Advanced and removed both Excel Introduction and Word Introduction. Furthermore, we have added Corporate Income Taxation to our existing Personal Income Taxation, as the course specifically deals with business taxation, and is an integral part of the business reporting requirements. Knowing which business expenses are tax deductible, will help in providing better bookkeeping. We are confident that these changes will give you yet another edge to succeed in this ever-competitive labour-market.
Students who had started the Small Business Bookkeeping program prior to Fall 2020 will still be able to complete the original program requirements, keeping in mind our 5-year program completion policy.
As a reminder, the original program course requirements include: APPL70051 Word Introduction, APPL70055 Excel Introduction, ACCG70016 Financial Accounting 1, ACCG70017 Financial Accounting 2, APPL70024 QuickBooks 1, APPL70070 Computerized Accounting Processes, BUSM70005 Payroll Administration/BUSM70006 Payroll Administration – Distance Learning and ACCG70024 Income Taxation 1 – Personal Tax Preparation
Business owners, current bookkeepers and those looking to break into the field will earn the experience and skills needed to perform basic bookkeeping tasks, advance in a current career or get their foot into the accounting department’s door.
