Financial Assistance

Students enrolled in a Continuing Education program can now apply for a Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary

This bursary aims to provide financial support to students with low family income and resources. Students may be eligible for course cost plus 20% (with a limit of $1000 per academic year).

The Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary is administered through the Financial Aid & Awards Office.


Eligibility Requirements

You may be eligible for a Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary if you:

  •  Are a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person as defined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada);
  • Have family incomes below the applicable thresholds;

    *Family Income Thresholds*

    Family size: 1 - $33,180

  • Family size 2 - $46,923

    Family size 3 - $57,469

    Family size 4 - $66,360

    Family size 5 - $74,192

    Family size 6 - $81,274

    Family size 7+ - $87,785

  •  Are not receiving funding from:
  • - Better Jobs Ontario - Ontario Bridging Participant Assistant Program (OBPAP)

    - The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

    - The Canada Student Financial Assistance Program (CSFA Program)

    - A student financial assistance program from another province, territory, or country;

  • Are taking courses that are required for a Sheridan College Certificate, Recognition of Achievement, or Micro-Credential; and
  • Are enrolled in a course that is at least four (4) weeks in length.

The deadline to apply for bursary assistance is no later than the final day of your course(s)

Application Disclaimers

All communications will occur via your Sheridan student email account.

You are responsible for paying the costs associated to register in classes as review of bursary applications will not occur until after tenth day of classes has passed. Applications will be considered in the order which they are submitted until funding has been depleted.

Winter 2023 Applications

To apply for the Winter 2023 Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary, please complete the application here. Students are encouraged to apply within the first 10 days of classes.

Sheridan Black Student Bursary 

Sheridan’s new Strategic Plan entitled Sheridan 2024: Galvanizing Education for a Complex World codifies our institutional commitment to fostering equity, diversity and inclusion. Our goal is to create a community where everyone brings their full potential and experiences, knowing their unique contributions are valued.

Sheridan has identified funds to support Black students with financial bursaries to help off-set the costs of their Sheridan education. The bursary will be awarded based on financial need to Black students. Recipients must also be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, and an Ontario resident. This opportunity is open to new and returning Sheridan students and applicants to the Sheridan Continuing Education Bursary will be considered for this opportunity.
